Questing for Quests (Loot Sisters #4)

“I take it back. Rach’s friend is not nice.” Felicia scowls as the mohawked goblin ties her hands together.

“It’s a bit like birdliming,” the second one says. He’s turning our gem beneath the lantern light, back and forth. “Dangle a quest in the adventurers’ faces, then collect their rewards!”

Rach’s face is purple. She’s straining against the thick cable around her arms and chest. “I’ll murder you, Erd!”

“Oh Great Eressa, protect me!” The goblin laughs and winks at Vera, who’s gagged and glaring daggers. “Sorry, gals. I win this round, but I’m sure you’ll land on your feet.”

A continuation of Thank You, Erd, the 4th installment in my dungeon crawler story. Written for The Prediction. This week’s challenge words were cable, lime, and protect.

Previous episodes in order include Dungeon Crawl (1), A Matter of Trust (2), and Thank You, Erd (3).

There are very strong opinions about what is/isn’t litRPG, and I’d say this serial leans more towards fantasy/progression fantasy as I don’t have stats, and I’m undecided if my characters are in an actual game (maybe they are? maybe they aren’t? we’ll see!). Ultimately, I’m drawing inspiration from playing role-playing games and questing and just trying to write something light and fun. :)

Also, if you’re unfamiliar with birdliming (like I was before today), here’s an article. I’m glad it’s not a widespread hunting technique. :(
